Fight for Preemies Day

For the last two weeks, you have been tirelessly raising funds for the March of Dimes. Since November 1st, you have helped Fandom for Preemies raise $3,660.50. Those of you familiar with the March of Dimes know how critical fundraising is to such an organization. Last year, the March of Dimes spent over 20 million dollars on research for prematurity. And for the first time in decades, the rate of premature birth in the United States declined. That is a monumental and life saving feat.

Thank you for helping us help make a difference for the most fragile lives. The fight, of course, is not over. We will be fundraising through the end of November and Fandom Gives Back will be hosting a benefit auction on their website November 25th through November 30th for the March of Dimes.

And on November 17, 2010, the March of Dimes will host the 2nd annual Fight for Preemies day. Bloggers are encouraged to post a write up about prematurity to their blogs. Since Fandom for Preemies is a fandom wide effort, we would like to encourage you to participate with us here on the FfP blog!

If you would like to write a guest post for the Fandom for Preemies blog for Fight for Preemies Day, please email us so we can get you signed up!

What you write is entirely up to you. Bloggers with premature children often share their stories. Others write about the costs of prematurity, the NICU experience, challenges preemies face, etc. The list is endless.

You can learn more and sign up to participate as an individual blogger at: http://www.bloggersunite.org/event/fight-for-preemies-1.

We hope you'll sign up and help bring awareness to prematurity with us on November 17th!

Cheers,
Ayden
